October brought changing leaves, fresh beginnings, and plenty of excitement at The Pollock Center!

From rehearsals and auditions to new faces joining our team, there has been a lot happening both onstage and behind the scenes. As our fall productions take shape and our community continues to grow, we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to this month and what’s coming next!

♬ Hadestown: Teen Edition

The cast of Hadestown: Teen Edition with Camp Hill High School spent October hard at work preparing for their performances! With construction underway in our main theatre, rehearsals moved to the dance and choir room, where the cast continued learning, rehearsing, and bringing this incredible story to life while being flexible.

They’re now looking ahead to a full month of rehearsals in November as they prepare to take the stage this December.

Save the Dates: December 11-13!

♬ Madagascar Kids

Fifth graders from Eisenhower Elementary, our neighboring school connected to The Pollock Center, auditioned for Madagascar Kids this month, and we’re thrilled to announce that 50 talented students joined the cast!

With auditions behind them, these students are just beginning their journey into the world of Madagascar. We can’t wait to see their personalities shine as they work together, make new memories, and bring this fun-filled production to life.

Save the Dates: January 22-24!

❤︎ Student Spotlight

Behind every great production is a team of dedicated people helping bring the magic to life! This doesn’t just include the adults leading the team, but the students too. This month, we’re celebrating two students who have been going above and beyond during Hadestown: Teen Edition.

Emmy Tappan has been hard at work as the production’s stage manager (and The Pollock Center’s intern), helping keep everything organized and running smoothly.

Genevieve Kern has also been an incredible help, providing costume support throughout the production process.

We’re so proud of these students for stepping up, sharing their talents, and contributing to the success of the show. The work happening behind the scenes is just as important as what audiences see onstage, and we’re grateful to have them as part of the team!

❤︎ Meet the Team: New & Show Staff

October brought some exciting additions to The Pollock Center family as well!

We’re happy to welcome Ash Strayer as our new Administrative Assistant. Ash joined the team this month and will be helping with the many moving parts that keep our facility and productions running smoothly.

We’re also looking ahead to Madagascar Kids and the wonderful production team bringing the show to life:

     • Toni Carosella as our Director

     • Isabella Malocu as our Vocal Director

     • Catrina Gardner as our Choreographer

     • Ally Ackerman as our Teacher Liaison

We’re thrilled to welcome these talented team members and can’t wait to see what they create with our young performers over the next few months!

⚒ Under Construction

Things have also been busy behind the scenes at The Pollock Center, and not just with rehearsals!

Our main theatre has been undergoing construction as our crew works hard to make the space even better for the students, performers, and audiences who walk through our doors.

While construction has meant a few changes to our usual rehearsal routines and events, our productions have continued moving forward. We’re excited to see the improvements come together and look forward to welcoming everyone back into our theatre space soon!
